JAKARTA - The Penjaringan Metro Police arrested two suspects with initials CW (31) residents of Penjaringan and FAP (26) residents of Tangerang regarding the case of kidnapping and abuse of GH (70) elderly man on Jalan Camar Permai 4, RT 02/06, Kapuk Muara Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.

The motive for the abduction of the elderly started from the refusal of the victim with the initials GH against the perpetrator CW. GH has a child with the initials CKH who is the former lover of the perpetrator CW. The rejection was because the perpetrator CW already had a wife and child

The Head of the Metro Police, AKBP Agta Bhuwana Putra, said the incident began when the victim GH was exercising in the morning around 06.15 WIB.

After walking for about 15 minutes, the victim then crossed Jalan Camar Permai 4, RT 02/06, Kapuk Muara Village.

Then suddenly a car unit came from behind the victim and when the car passed the victim.

One of the perpetrators then got out of the left back door of the white Fortuner car with the number B 1168 PAC. The perpetrator then caught and pulled GH victim with the intention of putting him in the car.

The victim GH shouted for help while rebelling and fighting until the victim fell. However, the perpetrator still tried to pull and drag the victim.

After hearing the victim's loud screams, the perpetrator finally canceled his intention and returned to the car. The perpetrator immediately fled the scene.

As a result of the incident, the victim felt scared and traumatized and panicked. The victim also suffered abrasions on the fingers and left elbow. Furthermore, the victim reported the incident to the Metro Penjaringan Police.

"Based on the report, the Metro Penjaringan Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted a crime scene check as well as a series of investigations and investigations by examining witnesses," said AKBP Agta when confirmed, Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

The police also supplemented the evidence by checking the CCTV at the crime scene which recorded the incident. The police also conducted a CCTV search of the road and found a white Fortuner car that was suspected of changing the number plate to B 44 BE.

As a result, the police managed to arrest CW who was the mastermind of the attempted kidnapping and persecution of the elderly.

"From the results of the examination, CW is the ex-girlfriend of the victim's child. The suspect CW admitted his actions of attempting to kidnap and abuse together with FAP," he said.

Furthermore, the police re-arrested the suspect with the initials FAP at a fitness place in the Gold Coast apartment, PIK. The two suspects CW and FAP were then taken to the Penjaringan Police for further examination.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Penjaringan Police, AKP Sampson Sosa Hutapea, said based on the results of the investigation, the motive for the suspect to attempt abduction and abuse was allegedly because of love.

"The motive of the suspect is suspected to be an unapproved relationship. The suspect CW wants to bring and meet the victim GH directly for personal interests related to CKH (the former girlfriend of the suspect CW)," he said.

The motive for the kidnapping was allegedly due to the refusal of the victim's family to have a love affair with the suspect CW. The rejection was based on the fact that the suspect CW already had a wife and child.

"The suspects with initials CW and FAP are charged with overlapping articles, namely Article 17 and Article 18 Jo Article 450 and or Article 471 of the Criminal Code concerning attempted kidnapping and or abuse with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison," he said.
