President Prabowo wants to expand opportunities for Indonesian workers to Germany

Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto wants to strengthen partnerships with Germany in the labor sector. The desire was conveyed directly to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday, June 15.

President Prabowo wants to expand employment opportunities for Indonesian citizens to work in high technology industries.

As the largest economy in the European Union, Germany is known as one of the global leaders in the field of innovation, research, and high technology. Therefore, employment cooperation between the two countries has great potential to support the development of Indonesian human resources capacity.

On this occasion, President Prabowo also welcomed the signing of a Letter of Intent regarding the Global Skills Partnership in the field of nursing between Indonesia and Germany. This program provides an official, ethical, and structured path for Indonesian nurses to work or participate in an internship program at health facilities in Germany.

Apart from the employment sector, the two countries also continue to strengthen economic cooperation. One of them is through the Partnering in Business with Germany program which is aimed at Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to increase managerial capacity and expand access to global supply chains and European markets.
