JC Sony Sonjaya Accepted, Examination to Enter the Leadership Level

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) RI stated that the justice collaborator (JC) application submitted by the suspect Sony Sonjaya in the case of alleged corruption in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program has been received by investigators and is currently being studied.

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, said investigators would investigate the application in conjunction with the agenda of the examination scheduled to take place this week.

"The application against JC has indeed been received and studied by investigators," said Anang at the Attorney General's Office, South Jakarta, Monday, June 15, 2021.

In addition to examining Sony Sonjaya, investigators will also call a number of other parties who are considered related to the case.

"This week the investigators will be examined. Not only Sony, there are several other parties as well," he said.

When asked whether the examination would target parties at the leadership level, Anang confirmed it.

"Yes," he said briefly.

The Attorney General's Office also ensures that it will trace the flow of funds in the case, including the possibility of applying money laundering (TPPU) to recover state losses.

"We will definitely pursue those who are considered involved. Not only do we harm people, but how do we also recover state losses with one of the TPPU instruments against those who are related and who receive it," said Anang.

Regarding the role of each of the suspects, including Sony Sonjaya, Dadan, and Lodewyk, Anang is not yet willing to reveal it in detail. According to him, this is still part of the investigation strategy.

"Later, it is clear that this is a strategy for investigation. In the future, what it will be like cannot be revealed because it is still in the investigation stage. It cannot be opened, it is a matter of the case," he said.

However, Anang said there was a connection between the parties in the alleged corruption case.

"But you can see the connection, the common thread, related to this procurement and others, it's all related," he said.

Investigators are also still tracing the alleged deposit of money from suspect Asep to Sony Sonjaya, including the amount of funds allegedly deposited in each Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

"Later it will still be investigated," said Anang.

Furthermore, the Attorney General's Office plans to order the ranks of the prosecutor's office in the region to expose the implementation of the SPPG which is suspected of having indications of irregularities.

"The Attorney General's Office will order the regions to expose the SPPG which is suspected to have indications," he concluded.
