SPMB Jakarta 2026 Opened, Disdik Prepared 245,980 Seats from State Schools to Private Schools Free of Charge

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Education Office (Disdik) has started opening the New Student Admission System (SPMB) for the 2026/2027 academic year with a total capacity of 245,980 seats. The quota is not only available at state schools, but also through the SPMB Bersama program and Free Private Schools.

The Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, said that this year's SPMB implementation was designed to ensure that all children in Jakarta have the same opportunity to access education.

"The 2026/2027 School Year SPMB we implement to ensure that the acceptance of new students is more objective, transparent, and inclusive. The principle is that every child in Jakarta must have the same opportunity to get quality education services," said Nahdiana in a statement, Monday, June 15.

SPMB 2026/2027 refers to the Governor's Decree Number 238 of 2026 concerning the Technical Instructions for the Admission of New Students. This system covers the admission of students in state schools ranging from PAUD to SMA/SMK, including SLB and SKB.

This year, the capacity of state schools reached 228,163 new students. The largest quota is available at the elementary level with 95,965 seats, followed by 73,289 seats at the junior high school, 29,337 seats at the high school, and 19,541 seats at the vocational school.

Outside of state schools, the DKI Provincial Government also opened access to education through private schools that are government partners. A total of 298 private schools are included in the SPMB program together with a capacity of 7,708 new students. Meanwhile, 103 schools are included in the Free Private School program with a total quota of 10,109 students.

Nahdiana assessed that the scheme was an effort by the local government to expand the school options for the community, especially for families in need of educational access support.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government wants to ensure that access to education is not only based on state schools. Through SPMB Bersama and Free Private Schools, we are expanding the options for the public so that children can continue to go to school with decent and quality services," said Nahdiana.

In its implementation, SPMB provides four admission routes, namely Achievement, Affirmation, Domisili, and Mutation. The Achievement route is intended for prospective students who have academic and non-academic achievements, while the Affirmation route is intended for prospective students from families who are unable to afford it.

The Domisili Route takes into account the proximity of the residence to the school as well as the distribution of the area and capacity. Meanwhile, the Mutation Route is intended for children whose parents have changed their duties, including teachers and education personnel.

Registration for SPMB will begin on June 15, 2026. Previously, the stages of account submission and verification of the Family Card had been carried out gradually since mid-May for all levels of education.

Nahdiana emphasized that the entire process of accepting new students was not charged. He asked the public not to easily believe information circulating outside the official government channels.

"We emphasize that SPMB is not charged and there should be no gratification in any form. Our community asks that you pay attention to the schedule, follow the official procedures, and do not believe in information outside the official channels of the Education Office," he said.

To anticipate obstacles during the registration process, the DKI Education Office has set up service posts at state schools, Education Sub-Office, to the Education Office. These services are available online and offline.
