Pati Regent Sudewo Charged with Accepting Rp2.4 Billion Deposit for Filling Village Devices
SEMARANG - The non-active Regent of Pati Sudewo was charged with receiving Rp. 2.4 billion in the process of filling village apparatus positions in the district which occurred between 2025 and 2026.
Public Prosecutor Joko Hermawan in a trial at the Semarang Corruption Crime Court, said the defendant was suspected of abusing his authority regarding the filling of village devices.
In filling the village apparatus position, he said, candidates are required to pay a certain amount of money.
In this case, there are three village heads who are also on trial who play a role in collecting the deposit money.
The three kades are Kades Karangrowo, Abdul Suyono; Kades Arumanis, Sumarjiono; and Kades Sukorukun, Karjan.
The village device candidates, he said, are required to deposit a certain amount of money ranging from Rp. 165 million to Rp. 225 million per person.
The prosecutor said there were 15 prospective village cadres who deposited a certain amount of money ranging from Rp. 130 million to Rp. 165 million per person.
"The money that must be deposited was then collected at Abdul Suyono who is the representative of Pati Regent Sudewo," he said in a trial chaired by Chief Justice Edwin Pudtono, reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 15.
The defendant Sudewodijerat was charged with Article 12 letter e of Law Number 31 of 1999 which was amended and added by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of corruption.
In the corruption case, the defendant Sudewa was also charged with receiving bribes and gratuities in a project at the DJKA Ministry of Transportation with a total of Rp. 3.8 billion in his capacity as a former member of Commission V of the DPR.
Regarding the public prosecutor's accusation, the defendant Sudewoakan filed an objection at the upcoming trial.
