The Ministry of PU Allocates IDR 1.65 Trillion for the 2027 Community-Based Infrastructure Program
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has allocated a budget of IDR 1.65 trillion for the Community-Based Infrastructure Program (IBM) in 2027.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said that the development of infrastructure that directly touches the needs of the people is one of the government's focuses in the Government Work Plan (RKP) for the 2027 fiscal year (TA).
"We pay special attention to Community-Based Infrastructure. In our opinion, this IBM is very important because the impact is the closest and most directly utilized by the community, both in terms of physical and economic terms," said Dody as quoted from a written statement, Monday, June 15.
The total indicative ceiling of the Ministry of PU in 2027 is IDR 98.47 trillion.
Dody said that the program is targeted to reach 4,127 locations in various areas.
A budget of Rp. 450 billion was allocated for the Irrigation Water Management Improvement Acceleration Program (P3TGAI) in the water resources sector targeting 2,000 locations.
Meanwhile, Rp1.2 trillion was allocated for 2,127 locations in the Cipta Karya activity unit.
"We continue to consolidate and refine the program so that support for IBM remains maintained and the benefits continue," he said.
The PU Ministry assessed that the IBM program is a strategic investment that provides direct benefits to the community.
In addition to improving the quality of basic infrastructure, the program is also considered capable of driving local economic growth.
The P3TGAI program, for example, is said to be able to increase agricultural productivity through the improvement of irrigation networks.
Then, the Community-Based Drinking Water and Sanitation (PAMSIMAS) Program is aimed at helping provide access to drinking water in villages.
Meanwhile, Community-Based Sanitation (SANIMAS) and Waste Processing Reduce-Reuse-Recycle (TPS3R) support the improvement of environmental health through sanitation services and waste management.
In addition, the Regional Socio-Economic Infrastructure Development Program (PISEW) and the Development of Economic Areas (PKE) are expected to strengthen regional economic activities.
The construction of suspension bridges is also considered important to open access for people in remote areas, including for students, farmers and residents who have been facing connectivity limitations.
