Olivia Rodrigo Sneaks on Stage at No Doubt's Last Residency Concert
JAKARTA - Olivia Rodrigo again stole the public's attention with an unexpected action. This time, the singer of "drivers license" made a big surprise by suddenly appearing on stage at the closing concert of No Doubt's residency at MSG Sphere, Las Vegas, USA, last weekend.
The moment started from Gwen Stefani's unique tradition throughout the 18 No Doubt concert schedules at the futuristic venue. Stefani often chooses one random audience from the crowd to be invited to the stage and hug.
On the last night of the concert marking No Doubt's return after 14 years of absence, Stefani's eyes were drawn to a teasing poster in the front row.
The poster reads, "I'm just a girl who wants one last hug at the last Sphere show", a creative pun on No Doubt's hit song, "Just a Girl".
Without hesitation, Stefani immediately pointed to the owner of the poster and asked him to get on immediately.
"Come here right now," Gwen Stefani said.
However, the atmosphere of the arena was immediately rumbling when the figure behind the poster walked closer and climbed onto the stage. Stefani was surprised to realize that the lucky audience was Olivia Rodrigo.
"Is that Olivia Rodrigo? Oh my God, give a big round of applause for Olivia Rodrigo! She just released a new album," Stefani exclaimed in front of thousands of eyes that cheered hysterically.
The two immediately hugged tightly. Rodrigo, who seemed very enthusiastic, jumped for joy before finally taking the microphone.
"No Doubt is the best band in the world! I love you guys so much!" shouted Rodrigo enthusiastically before getting off the stage.
This spontaneous action extends the list of closeness between Rodrigo and No Doubt. Previously, Rodrigo had a duet singing "Bathwater" with Gwen Stefani et al at the 2024 Coachella festival.
Rodrigo also often performs No Doubt songs on various occasions, such as "Just A Girl" in 2022 and "Don't Speak" in early 2025. For Rodrigo, Gwen Stefani is a reflection of a true artist.
Rodrigo's appearance at the concert coincided with a significant moment in his career. He had just released his third studio album titled "You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love" on June 12, the day before No Doubt's last residency concert.
