German President Visits Jakarta Today, Police Prepare Traffic Engineering

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police has prepared traffic engineering to support the smooth running of the state visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Jakarta on Monday, June 15.

Traffic arrangements are carried out on a situational basis on a number of major roads that will be used by the state guest during the agenda.

Director of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Komarudin, said that the public needed to anticipate the potential for congestion at several points during the visit.

"Please be aware that some roads may be busier than usual," said Kombes Komarudin, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 14.

Based on the security plan, a number of roads that will become the transit route for the German President's entourage include:

Halim Perdanakusuma Road MT Haryono Road Gatot Subroto Road Asia Africa Road General Sudirman Road MH Thamrin Road Medan Merdeka Barat Road Medan Merdeka Utara Road Garnisun Dalam Road Prof Dr Satrio Road Perwira Road

Polda Metro Jaya has prepared traffic arrangements along the route to ensure that the trip of the state guest runs safely and smoothly.

Komarudin emphasized that there would be no road closures throughout the day. Traffic engineering was only carried out when the convoy of German President's vehicles passed.

According to him, the closure is temporary and will be reopened after the group passes the location.

"The road closure will only be carried out during the procession," said Komarudin.

The German President's entourage is scheduled to arrive at around 08.00 WIB and will leave Jakarta in the afternoon at around 17.00 WIB.

Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public, especially road users in the Central Jakarta area and other main routes, to plan their trips early.

Drivers are also advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic jams that may occur during the process of securing the state visit.

The public is asked to continue to comply with the instructions of officers in the field so that traffic continues to run orderly.
