Ambon Police Ask Residents to Maintain Public Order During the World Cup
AMBON - The Ambon City Police (Polresta) and Lease Islands appeal to the public to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas) during the 2026 World Cup watch together (nobar) activities.
The head of the Ambon and Lease Islands Police, Kombes Pol Yoga Putra Prima Setya in Ambon, Friday (12/6), said the euphoria of the 2026 World Cup must be celebrated wisely without disturbing the comfort and safety of other people.
"We invite all people to work together to maintain the situation of kamtibmas so that it remains safe and conducive during the implementation of watching together and celebrations related to the 2026 World Cup," he said.
He appealed to the public not to carry out convoys or processions of vehicles after the nobar activity because it had the potential to cause traffic accidents and disrupt public order.
In addition, residents who follow the nobar are asked to maintain order, not to bring prohibited items such as narcotics, liquor, sharp weapons, or other dangerous objects to the activity location.
"We also remind the public not to bring prohibited items such as narcotics, liquor, sharp weapons, or other dangerous objects to the activity location," he said.
The Police Chief also reminded the public not to drive vehicles carelessly, hastily, or use an exhaust that does not comply with technical specifications because it can disturb the comfort of residents.
In addition, the public is asked not to consume alcoholic beverages, not to fight or provoke supporters of the team, and not to light firecrackers or flares that could potentially endanger safety.
The Ambon Police, he said, will continue to carry out security and surveillance at a number of crowded points during the 2026 World Cup.
"The victory and defeat of the supported team should be treated with maturity. Let's celebrate the World Cup safely, orderly, and full of brotherhood in order to keep Ambon peaceful and conducive," said Yoga.
