Tanjung Priok Port Police Destroyed Evidence of Drugs Worth Rp37 Billion
JAKARTA - The Tanjung Priok Port Police destroyed drugs with a value of Rp. 37 billion that had been in force or had become legally binding on the grounds of the Tanjung Priok Port Police, North Jakarta on Friday, June 12, 2026.
The destruction of drugs was also attended by the North Jakarta District Attorney's Office. From VOI's observation at the location, before being destroyed using the BNN RI incinerator, the Puslabfor Polri team first tested a sample of drug evidence.
The evidence that was tested was methamphetamine. After all the evidence was tested and declared to be authentic drugs, the officers then carried out the destruction of the evidence.
The evidence consists of various types of drugs originating from 58 cases of narcotics trafficking with a total of 67 suspects.
The evidence was confiscated by the Tanjung Priok Port Police Narcotics Unit from January to June 2026.
The Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, AKBP Aris Wibowo, said that 15 cases were in stage two and were handed over to the prosecutor's office.
"We carried out the destruction of related evidence. So not all of them were destroyed, but there were some that we had handed over to the prosecutor's office to be used as evidence for the trial process," said AKBP Aris to reporters, Friday, June 12, 2026.
The destruction of the evidence was assisted by Puslabfor and BNN RI.
"For narcotics evidence, namely Etomidate type 5,219 pcs and narcotics type methamphetamine 2,062.17 grams gross," he said.
The Police Chief emphasized that the Tanjung Priok Port Police continued to be committed to uncovering the circulation and misuse of any type of drugs.
"We appeal to the public to stay away from all forms of drug abuse and distribution," he said.
