Netanyahu: As long as I am PM of Israel, Iran will not have nuclear weapons

JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that during his tenure, Iran would never have nuclear weapons.

"As long as I serve as the Prime Minister of Israel, Iran will not have nuclear weapons," he said, quoted from the statement of the Israeli Prime Minister's office, Friday, June 12.

Netanyahu said he and US President Donald Trump agreed on this.

"For more than 30 years, I have been at the forefront of the international struggle against Iran's nuclear program.

"If it were not for this struggle, Iran would have long had an atomic bomb to destroy Israel," the Israeli PM continued.

Iran, Netanyahu said, seeks to destroy the Jewish state, "and I dedicate my life to preventing them from doing so".

"As long as I serve as Prime Minister of Israel, this will not happen," Netanyahu said.
