Onvo L60 Gets 106 Updates and LiDAR, Can It Stop Sales Decline?
Onvo L60 gets a major refresh in China. Citing a report from CarNewsChina, Friday, June 12, the mid-size electric SUV from the sub-brand Nio is now equipped with LiDAR, a more complete rear entertainment feature, and 106 updates in six main aspects.
This latest model was officially launched on June 11, 2026. The focus of the update is on intelligent driving technology and cabin comfort.
The Onvo L60 is available in three variants. The Pro version sells for 192,800 yuan or around US$28,400. With the Battery-as-a-Service or BaaS scheme, the price drops to 135,800 yuan or around US$20,000.
BaaS is a battery rental scheme. Consumers buy a car without a battery, then pay for the battery subscription separately. This way makes the initial price of an electric car lower.
The Max+ variant is sold for 202,800 yuan or around US$29,800. With BaaS, the price is 145,800 yuan or around US$21,400. The highest-end Ultra+ variant is priced at 222,800 yuan or around US$32,800. The price of BaaS is 165,800 yuan or around US$24,400.
In terms of design, the Onvo L60 still maintains the sleek coupe style. Changes are visible on the front, especially the bumper which is made simpler. Its dimensions are 4,828 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, 1,616 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
Onvo also added a new color, namely Interstellar Grey.
The most important update is to the intelligent driving system. According to CarNewsChina, the Onvo L60 now uses the 5 nanometer Shenji NX9031 chip developed by Nio itself. This chip is prepared to support long-term technology updates.
This car also uses the Nio World Model and the Coconut smart architecture. Both support end-to-end navigation assistance and autonomous battery swapping. This means that the car system can help with more integrated navigation and support the battery swap process automatically.
For consumers who do not choose LiDAR, Onvo still provides a pure camera-based version. This version uses the Nvidia Orin-X chip with 254 TOPS computing capabilities.
The cabin also gets a class upgrade. The interior uses the Nappa Anlan Blue leather theme. In front, there is a 17.2-inch screen with a 3K resolution with Nio's SkyOS operating system.
Rear passengers get a 17.3-inch folding screen with 3K resolution, a two-stage sunroof with a cover, and a smooth velvet ceiling. There is also a 6-liter heating and cooling box, as well as a built-in freezer of 52 liters.
The luggage provides 763 liters of space, including a 139-liter underfloor compartment.
The Onvo L60 is built on Nio's third-generation platform, NT3.0, with a 900-volt silicon carbide architecture. The single motor version produces 240 kW or 322 hp. The dual motor all-wheel drive version produces a maximum power of 340 kW or 456 hp.
The battery options remain 60 kWh and 85 kWh. Based on the CLTC standard in China, the range is between 530 km to 740 km, depending on the configuration.
However, this launch comes at a time when sales of the L60 are under pressure. In May, sales of the Onvo L60 in China were only 2,023 units, down 67.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
With LiDAR, a more luxurious cabin, and a BaaS scheme that lowers the initial price, Onvo is clearly trying to make the L60 more attractive. The challenge is not small: China's electric car market is very crowded, and buyers there are increasingly difficult to impress with just a long list of features.
