Trump Apparently Discusses Iran's Draft MoU with Netanyahu
JAKARTA - The head of the Israeli authority Benjamin Netanyahu has discussed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Washington and Tehran with US President Donald Trump.
Trump said the final points of the peace agreement between the United States and Iran had been agreed to by all parties involved, including Israel, and the deal could be completed in the next few days.
"President Trump spoke tonight with Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding the memorandum of understanding (MoU) being drawn up with Iran to begin negotiations," the Israeli authorities' office wrote, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 12.
The statement confirms that Israel is not a part of the agreement.
However, Netanyahu expressed appreciation for Trump's commitment that the final agreement after the talks would include "the material elimination of enriched uranium, the dismantling of nuclear enrichment infrastructure, restrictions on missile production, and the cessation of Iran's support for its terrorist proxies in the region," the statement said.
At the same time, the news portal Axios reported that Trump's announcement on the progress of negotiations with Iran had surprised Netanyahu, because he had not received any prior notification or warning.
