US Military Shot Down Iranian Drone in Strait of Hormuz

JAKARTA - The US military shot down two Iranian drones in the Strait of Hormuz. The US had previously canceled a major attack on Iran because negotiations were believed to be close to reaching an agreement.

"It appears Iran has attempted to attack merchant vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz tonight," the official was quoted as saying by ABC News, Friday, June 12.

"Traffic flow through the strait continues," the official said.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump claimed the Strait of Hormuz would be "officially opened" once the deal was signed. He stressed that the US would lift the naval blockade on the waterway as part of the deal currently under consideration.

When asked if the US would immediately lift the blockade, Trump replied, "Yes, that's part of the deal, and oil prices will plummet."
