There is the Jakarta International Marathon, CFD June 14 Sudirman-Thamrin and Rasuna Said Ditiadakan

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office (Dishub) has canceled the implementation of a car-free day (CFD) along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to Jalan M.H. Thamrin and Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said this weekend.

The abolition of the Sudirman-Thamrin and Rasuna Said motor-free days (HBKB) is due to the holding of the Jakarta International Marathon (JAKIM) which coincides with Sunday, June 14, 2026.

JAKIM 2026 takes the route from the National Monument (Monas) to Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) with the finish line in the Ring Road GBK area. This race competes in four categories, namely 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon.

"In connection with international activities on Sunday, June 14, HBKB on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman- M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, and H.R. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, are abolished," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service Budi Awaludin in his statement, Friday, June 12.

Budi said that the abolition of CFD was in accordance with Article 5 paragraph (1) of DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day.

"This article stipulates that the implementation of HBKB can be canceled if at the same time an event of a special, national or international nature is also carried out, where the activity requires a special traffic and security arrangement," said Budi.

Usually, every Sunday, the DKI Provincial Government holds CFD on a number of roads in five administrative city areas. The largest CFD in Jakarta is still taking place along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to MH Thamrin every Sunday morning. The protocol area is a favorite spot for residents to run, bike, exercise, and just walk without vehicle pollution.

Starting June 2026, the DKI Provincial Government will also advance the operating hours of the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD to 05.30 WIB to 10.00 WIB. Previously, the CFD started at 06.00 WIB. This policy was taken to give people more time for activities.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government is now also holding Jalan HR Rasuna Said as a new CFD location in South Jakarta from 05.30 WIB to 09.30 WIB. This area is projected to be an alternative to Sudirman-Thamrin, which has always been crowded with residents every weekend.
