President Prabowo Scheduled to Attend the XVII KTNA PENAS Summit in Gorontalo

GORONTALO - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the peak of the XVII National Contact Week for Fishing and Fishing (PENAS KTNA) which will take place in Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, on June 24, 2026.

Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail in Gorontalo, Friday, said the information was obtained based on the results of coordination meetings of the central committee, regional committees, and local governments related to the preparation for the implementation of PENAS XVII.

"The central committee has conveyed that the opening of PENAS on June 20 will be carried out by Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman. For the peak of the activities on June 24, the President is scheduled to attend," said Gusnar.

According to him, the regional government continues to mature various preparations ahead of the implementation of national activities that will bring together farmers, fishermen, agricultural extensionists, academics, business actors, to regional governments from various regions of Indonesia.

Gusnar said the presence of the President at the peak of PENAS XVII is expected to strengthen the attention of the central government to the development of the agricultural, fisheries, and food security sectors in Gorontalo.

"We hope that the President can attend because PENAS is a national strategic agenda that is an event for the meeting of the main actors and business actors of the agriculture and fisheries sectors from across Indonesia," he said.

PENAS Farmers and Fishermen XVII will take place on June 20-25, 2026 in the Gelar Sports Area (GOR) David-Tony, Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency.

The committee noted that around 13 thousand participants consisting of farmers, fishermen, extension workers, regional heads, as well as representatives of related organizations and institutions were scheduled to attend the series of activities.

In addition to being a forum for the exchange of agricultural knowledge and technology, PENAS XVII will also feature various innovations, technology titles, business meetings, and exhibitions of outstanding agricultural and fishery products from various regions in Indonesia.
