Celebrate World Environment Day, Shopee invites users to plant mangroves through donations and interactive games

JAKARTA - In commemoration of World Environment Day which falls on June 5, Shopee Indonesia and BenihBaik.com present the Shopee Peduli program: Planting Indonesian Forests. This program, which will run from June 5 - July 20, 2026, specifically invites Shopee users to contribute to the nature conservation movement. Shopee users who want to contribute to this program can donate directly via the Donate feature and/or plant virtual trees through the Shopee Tanam game in the Shopee application which will be converted into mangrove tree seedlings.

All the donations collected and user participation in planting virtual seedlings "Shopee Tree Cares" will be converted into real support for the conservation of the mangrove forest ecosystem in Jakarta. This initiative is part of Shopee's commitment to supporting environmental conservation and coastal resilience.

Head of Corporate Affairs Shopee Indonesia, Satrya Pinandita, stated that this program is a manifestation of Shopee's commitment to supporting environmental conservation efforts through the use of digital technology that makes it easier for users to contribute.

"We believe that technology can be a bridge that connects more people with environmental conservation actions. Through this program, we are leveraging the Shopee digital ecosystem to provide an easy, interesting, and inclusive way for users to contribute, both through donations and interactive Shopee Tanam games. We hope that more people can take part in mangrove conservation efforts and see that simple steps in the digital space can have a real impact on the environment," said Satrya.

Shopee users who want to donate to support environmental sustainability through the Shopee Peduli: Plant Indonesian Forest program can follow the following steps:

1. Open the Shopee application2. Click the menu 'Top up, Bill & Tickets' on the main page of the Shopee application. Then click the menu 'View All'.3. Scroll down to the 'Finance' column and select the menu 'Donate to Plant Trees'.4. Select the option 'Shopee Peduli: Plant Indonesian Forest' then enter the amount of donation you want to give and enter your name.5. Click the 'Continue' menu to complete the payment.6. After the transaction is complete, you will receive a payment receipt in the Shopee application.

Currently, the Donate feature is only available on the Shopee app for Android users.

To ensure that the distribution of donations runs smoothly, Shopee collaborates with BenihBaik.com in carrying out the Shopee Peduli: Plant Indonesian Forests program.
