Pentagon Lockdown Building, Police Wear Gas Masks

JAKARTA - The Pentagon building in Arlington County, Virginia, United States (US) is still isolated or locked in a number of rooms. Testing for suspected hazardous materials/substances takes up to 2 hours.

CNN reported that the message sent by the Pentagon security team stated that "air quality problems" were detected and additional testing was needed.

"This additional testing can take one to two hours. Response teams have been deployed and are ready to support building residents if needed. You may see response personnel from various agencies and precautions taken in the center courtyard," the message read, Thursday, June 11.

Floors two through five in corridors four through seven of the sprawling Pentagon complex have been locked down, two sources said. A third source told CNN police in the building were wearing gas masks and full chemical protective gear.
