Prabowo asks textbooks to be revised, don't lose to outsiders
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has asked the government to immediately form a team to review textbooks for students. The lesson material is considered to need to be adjusted to the development of time and technology.
The Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the directive emerged in a meeting of more than two hours between the President and the education ranks at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, June 11.
"He gave the task to immediately form a team to study textbooks or textbooks for all our students," said Prasetyo.
According to Prasetyo, the President pays great attention to education, ranging from school infrastructure, improving the quality of teachers, to learning materials.
He said textbooks must be able to keep up with technological developments.
"We don't want to lose to textbooks from outside," he said.
In the same meeting, the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti also reported the distribution of Interactive Flat Panel or IFP to schools.
IFP is an interactive screen panel that is used to help learning in the classroom.
Mu’ti said that in 2025 the government had distributed 288,865 IFPs to educational units throughout Indonesia.
According to Mu’ti, the device has been used and there are studies that show its impact on the quality of learning and learning motivation.
