Iranian Drone Intercepted, No Damage at US Base

JAKARTA - US officials said the US intercepted almost all the missiles and drones launched by Iran on Wednesday night. Checks are still ongoing.

There were no reports of casualties suffered by US personnel or major damage to US bases, the official was quoted as saying by ABC News, Thursday, June 11.

Meanwhile, the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) - a newly formed Iranian entity to manage shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and collect fees for ships crossing the waterway - said the Strait of Hormuz would be closed until further notice.

The announcement of the PGSA comes after the US Central Command denied reports of the closure of the Strait overnight.

PGSA said the tensions caused by the aggressive US forces and the announcement by the Iranian armed forces were the reasons for the decision to close the waterway.

They asked applicants who had obtained transit permits to remain patient and wait for further notification.
