Kuwait Reopens Airspace After US-Iran Backfire
JAKARTA - Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace, and diverted flights to a number of alternative airports.
The country's General Civil Aviation Authority later said the airspace had been reopened after "the situation requiring precautionary measures has been resolved," Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Thursday.
According to the authorities, the situation both inside and outside Kuwait is being closely monitored to ensure the highest level of security.
The situation in the region has heated up again after US President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused Tehran of stalling negotiations.
This led the United States to launch a large-scale attack on Iran. The Pentagon's Central Command announced on Wednesday, June 10, that they had launched an attack on Iran at the direction of the US supreme commander.
Meanwhile, Iran's Tasnim News Agency, citing military sources, reported that the Iranian Armed Forces were on alert for a possible US attack, and if it happened, Tehran would attack US targets in the Middle East.
Following the US attack on Iran, the Islamic Republic launched a missile attack on the US Harir Air Base in northern Iraq, Iran's Nour News agency reported.
