Realizing Inclusive Development, KEK Industropolis Batang Receives Strategic Award for Strengthening the Independence of 6 Buffer Villages
JAKARTA - The commitment of KEK Industropolis Batang in aligning the growth of modern industry with the welfare of local communities has again received high appreciation at the national level. On Friday, June 6, 2026, KEK Industropolis Batang officially received an Award Certificate from the Kepak Sayapku Foundation for its real dedication in successfully implementing the "Foster Parent Village" program.
This award was given as a form of recognition for the region's great contribution in improving the technical ability of village devices to conduct a Sustainable Living Study in village development planning, as well as providing intensive assistance in 6 buffer villages located around the industrial area.
This strategic step is taken to ensure that the fast-spinning wheels of the economy at KEK Industropolis Batang run in tandem with the social readiness of the community. Through the implementation of training based on the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) methods, village cadres now have cutting-edge capacity in mapping village assets, analyzing the risks of industrial impacts, and drafting data-based development plans (evidence-based planning). With this strengthening, the integration of sustainability issues and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Village can be realized, bringing together global vision with local wisdom.
M. Burhan Murtaki, Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of KEK Industropolis Batang, Thursday, June 11, emphasized that this achievement is a reflection of the long-term vision of the region which places social harmony as the main pillar of business growth. According to him, this award is a valid proof that investment in KEK Industropolis Batang is not only focused on physical development and infrastructure, but also on the development of inclusive industrial civilization.
Strong synergy between the regional CSR program and formal village planning documents such as Village RKP and Village RPJM will significantly reduce the potential for social friction, while strengthening the Social License to Operate for all industrial tenants who have and will entrust their investments in this area.
Similar appreciation was also conveyed by AJ Boesra, Chairman of the Kepak Sayapku Foundation, who saw the courage of KEK Industropolis Batang as a pioneer of the future industrial area that is responsible. "We see a very high enthusiasm from the Village Heads since the early stages of mapping these assets. Many companies have a big commitment, but the problem is often the village does not know how to implement it. Through this data-based SLA training program - from environmental impact analysis to operational distance measurement - we can minimize potential conflicts and create an objective discussion space, not just a unilateral claim," said AJ Boesra.
He also added the importance of sustainability and periodic evaluation in this program.
"In the future, optimizing the role of active village technical devices such as Sekdes, Kaur, Planning Officer, as well as BPD elements will be the main key. As an area under the auspices of BUMN, integrity and public reputation must be maintained. Therefore, we highly appreciate the commitment of management which is also proactive in evaluating supporting programs, such as ensuring that the provision of national insight will be carried out by official agencies or competent officers, for the sake of a long-term collaborative ecosystem that is professional," he said.
The success of this program also sends a strong and proud message to all stakeholders. For local governments and communities, this collaboration confirms KEK Industropolis Batang as a transparent development agency and fully committed to Batang's welfare. For investors who have invested their capital, this award guarantees that their investments are in a stable, safe, and low-risk social environment due to the maintained productive relationship between the region and the community.
Meanwhile, for prospective investors, KEK Industropolis Batang offers advantages that other areas do not have, namely social certainty and high compliance with the principles of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), making it the best and most promising investment destination in Indonesia.
Closing this historic momentum, KEK Industropolis Batang emphasized that this award is not the end of an achievement, but a stepping stone to go further. The area is committed to continuing to monitor the results of the study from the Village Foster Parent program until it becomes a blueprint for the development of a solid self-sufficient village.
Together with the government, the community, and strategic partners, KEK Industropolis Batang is ready to step forward to usher in the era of modern industry that not only advances the economy, but also glorifies the lives of the surrounding community, in order to realize a strong, green, and sustainable future for Indonesia.
