TBA Air Ticket Not Sure to Go Up, Minister of Transportation Waiting for Presidential Instructions
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has not confirmed the plan to increase the upper limit or TBA fare for plane tickets. He said the Ministry of Transportation only prepared materials if the issue was asked by the President.
The statement was made by Dudy before meeting the President at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (11/6).
"He asked about the progress of several related to the Ministry of Transportation," said Dudy.
Dudy said all materials related to the transportation sector had been prepared for the meeting. Including the TBA issue which has recently become a spotlight.
"Yes, everything," he said.
However, he did not confirm that TBA would be discussed specifically. According to Dudy, the presentation of the issue depends on the President's question.
"That's later if he asks, it's ready," said Dudy.
When asked whether the decision to increase the TBA was at the President's level, Dudy answered briefly.
"It depends on him who confirms it," he said.
In the flight tariff rules, TBA is the maximum limit of the ticket price that the airline can charge passengers. Therefore, any changes to TBA have an impact on the pricing space for airline tickets.
