Prabowo Emphasizes Active Free Politics: Be Friends with All Countries

BANDAR LAMPUNG - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia will continue to carry out active free foreign policy and not join any military pact.

Prabowo said that position was a legacy of the founding of the nation which was very important in the midst of uncertain world geopolitical situation.

"We are friends with all countries. We don't want to be involved in anyone's military pact," said Prabowo at the XVIII HIPMI Congress in Bandar Lampung, Wednesday (10/6).

He said Indonesia must maintain good relations with all major world powers. Therefore, Prabowo said he had to fulfill the invitations of various world leaders, both from the United States, Russia, China, India, and other countries.

"A thousand friends are too few, one opponent is too many. This is the line I am taking," he said.

Prabowo said that Indonesia is now sought after by other countries because it is known not to want to be hostile.

According to Prabowo, the President's duty is to safeguard the interests of the Indonesian people through good relations with all parties.
