Alleged Involvement of the BPK in the Muara Enim Regent Case Investigated by the KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating the alleged involvement of employees of the Financial Supervisory Board (BPK) in a series of hand-in-hand operations (OTT) that ensnared Muara Enim Regent Edison.

This statement was made by the acting (Plt) Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein when asked about the series of silent operations in the Jakarta area. It is reported that there are a number of parties from the BPK who were also secured.

"There was an incident, maybe in an activity at Senayan Park, there may also be information, there are BPK employees, we are all investigating it," Taufik told reporters, quoted Wednesday, June 10.

Taufik did not elaborate further on the investigation. Because the team is still working so there is no information that can be conveyed.

"But of course the team is working and we can't possibly open information to the public, because this is still very sensitive, so when there is progress, of course we will convey it to friends," he said.

"Maybe different activities, that's what we can't say yet, because the activities in Muara Enim are their own activities. Whether it will have anything to do with informed activities, we will tell you later," continued Taufik.

As previously reported, the KPK together with the Corruption Tipikor Court held a joint investigation in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 8. 10 people were secured and led to the establishment of four suspects, one of whom was Muara Enim Regent Edison.

Then also appointed was Abi Nurwardani (ABN) as the Secretary of the Education and Culture Service in 2026; Adi Triyadi (AD) as Edison's confidant or nephew; and Cory Erin Hardi (CRH) as Marketing PT Millenium Solusi Abadi (MSA).

In this case, Edison allegedly received a fee of 5 percent from project partners in the Muara Enim Regency Government environment. The receipt is related to the procurement project of smart boards at the Muara Enim Regency Education and Culture Office (Dikbud) for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

As a result of their actions, Edison, Abi, and Adi are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a and/or Article 12 letter b and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 as well as criminal provisions in the new Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Cory was charged with bribery as regulated in Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment jo Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
