Social Media Makes Consumer Adaptation To E-commerce Easier, This Is The Role Of MSMEs
JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Muhammad Farhan said that in the current era of social media, it is easier for Indonesian consumers to adapt to e-commerce businesses.
"It can be said that we are a people who are very diligent in using digital platforms to shop, consume and this potential has made Indonesia one of the markets and actors of online business or e-commerce in the world," said Farhan in a discussion held initiated by BAKTI Kominfo with the theme "Marketing Challenges for MSMEs in Digital Competition in the Pandemic Period", quoted on Wednesday 9 June.
Then what is the role of SMEs in responding to this? According to Farhan, now this MSME is an institution or a sector that can move at a very low cost.
"Especially now with the existence of a digital or e-commerce platform, the cost to run a business, then the ratio is made with the reach of the business to be very, very cheap," he said.
Thus, he continued, MSMEs have the opportunity to become one of them as the backbone of Indonesia's economic growth. In addition, MSMEs have also become a sector that is not impossible, but instead becomes the motor of movement and the rise of the national economy.
Even so, said Farhan, there are several things that can be a challenge, including the lack of knowledge and skills in using digital platforms that rely a lot on visual forms, be it photos or videos.
"It is not easy to make interesting videos that can be one of the attractions of MSME products displayed on these digital platforms, because it is easy for people to enter and exit digital platforms, so the level of competition is very high," he said.
"With this very high level of competition, it is indeed not easy for MSME actors to get bloody, but after all, having MSME sector players who are very tough, competition is something that happens every day for MSME actors," he concluded. .
