Padat Karya Program in Jakarta Asked to Synergize with the Central Government Internship Scheme

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Suhud Alynudin supports the plan of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung for job vacancies in the labor-intensive program. According to him, this job vacancy is needed in the midst of an economic condition that is still challenging and the high number of job seekers.

"I think it's a good proposal. In the midst of a difficult economic situation, unemployment is a lot, this plan or program of the Governor should be supported. It's good if it can be realized immediately," Suhud told reporters, Wednesday, June 10.

Suhud proposed that this program be synergized with the internship program run by the central government. The collaboration is considered to be able to expand the absorption of labor and help reduce the unemployment rate in Jakarta.

According to him, the program will be more effective if it is collaborated with the central government program which also focuses on increasing employment opportunities through internship schemes for job seekers.

"It can also synergize with the central government program, because the central government has an internship program for job seekers. If we can collaborate or synergize, then it can help reduce unemployment in Jakarta," he said.

Furthermore, Suhud hopes that the labor-intensive program will not only focus on work related to environmental arrangement or city improvement, but also target other sectors that have great potential in absorbing labor.

"We hope that it will be carried out in many sectors, yes. Yes, it can be various things, yes. It can be in the creative industry, for example, or even in other sectors," said Suhud.
