Russia Ngotot Urges US to Withdraw Nuclear Weapons from Europe

JAKARTA - Russia insists on urging the withdrawal of US nuclear weapons from Europe and the dismantling of all infrastructure for their deployment in the region.

"Considering the possible damage to the most important civilian and military infrastructure facilities in Russia, US nuclear weapons deployed in Europe are seen as having a strategic nature," Russian Foreign Ambassador Andrey Belousov said, quoted by TASS, Tuesday, June 9.

"Therefore, we insist that the weapons be withdrawn from Europe, returned to the United States, and all the infrastructure for their deployment in Europe be dismantled," the diplomat continued.
