Minister of PKP: Housing Budget 2027 Increases Significantly for Dormitories and House Surgery

JAKARTA - The government will significantly increase the housing budget in the 2027 State Budget. The focus is on the construction of apartment buildings in urban areas and a home surgery program for residents living in uninhabitable houses.

Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar Sirait said the directive was conveyed by President Prabowo Subianto during a discussion at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/6).

"The president has given directions, it is carried out with the right and massive governance so that it can be felt by the people," said Maruarar or Ara.

According to Ara, the need for decent housing is still large. Therefore, the government has also begun to map out land that can be used for the construction of flats in the city.

Ara said the Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid, the Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani, and SOEs helped verify the land.

"The land will be immediately verified, studied which is suitable for building flats in urban areas," he said.

The government also continues the policy of exemption from the Land and Building Acquisition Tax (BPHTB) and Building Building Approval (PBG), which was previously known as IMB, for low-income people (MBR), namely a group of citizens who are the main target of the government's subsidized housing program.
