Apart from OTT, the Police's Corruption Tipikor is Ready to Join the KPK to Investigate the Modus Operandi of Washing Judol Money

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortas Tipikor) stated that it was ready to hold a joint investigation or join investigation with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to investigate other alleged corruption.

Including, if there is a finding of money laundering (TPPU) related to online gambling (judol) involving state organizers or law enforcement.

This was conveyed by the Director of Investigation of the Corruption Court, Kombes Roberthus Yohanes De Deo, at a press conference announcing the official announcement of the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) that ensnared Muara Enim Regent Edison on Tuesday, June 9. This action was known as the result of a joint investigation between the Corruption Court and the KPK.

"It is very possible to handle subsequent cases, we will also carry it out through a joint investigation process with the KPK," Yohanes told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday night, June 9.

Even so, Yohanes emphasized that all legal enforcement processes that are running will be ensured to be in accordance with legal regulations.

"Especially regarding the implementation of the new KUHAP, then also stick to the commitment to the respective functions of each institution regarding authority and scope."

Similarly, the acting director of the KPK Investigation Directorate also ensured that this kind of joint investigation would be carried out in the future. "The one who was there was a judol, yes, we are considering it as well because some of the high-profile ones we may do a joint investigation," he said.

"So it's not a one-way joint. So from the National Police Headquarters there will also be. Maybe the title (case, ed) together whether it will be carried out later at the National Police Headquarters or the KPK will be considered," continued Taufik.

Taufik also said that this joint investigation would not be carried out only by the National Police. "Of course we will invite the Attorney General's Office. Because this will indeed have breakthroughs in the future," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK together with the Corruption Tipikor Court held a joint investigation in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 8. 10 people were secured and led to the establishment of four suspects, one of whom was Muara Enim Regent Edison.
