Raffi Ahmad will speak frankly about his name being mentioned by the KPK
JAKARTA - Hotman Paris' lawyer as legal advisor to the Special Presidential Envoy for Youth and Arts Workers Raffi Farid Ahmad said his client would hold a press conference on Thursday (11/6), after his name was mentioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"We have agreed with Raffi Ahmad to hold a press conference this Thursday," said Hotman Paris in an Instagram post @hotmanparisofficial which collaborated with @raffinagita1717, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 9.
According to him, Raffi in the press conference scheduled to take place on Thursday at 14.00 WIB, will answer public questions related to the case handled by the KPK, namely the alleged corruption in the environment of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
Previously, on February 4, 2026, the KPK carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in the environment of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
A day later, the KPK named six of the 17 people who were arrested as suspects in the case of alleged bribes and gratuities related to the import of counterfeit goods or KW in the Customs environment.
They are Rizal (RZL) as the Director of Customs Enforcement and Investigation for the period 2024-January 2026 and is currently serving as the Head of the West Sumatra Customs Regional Office, Head of the Intelligence Sub Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS), and Head of the Customs Intelligence Section Orlando Hamonangan (ORL).
In addition, the KPK also named the owner of Blueray Cargo John Field (JF), the Head of the Blueray Cargo Import Documentation Team Andri (AND), and the Operational Manager of Blueray Cargo Dedy Kurniawan (DK) as suspects.
On February 26, 2026, the KPK again named a new suspect, namely the Head of the Tax Intelligence Section of the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of the Customs Service, Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP).
Furthermore, on February 27, 2026, the KPK revealed that it was investigating corruption in tax management, among others, after the seizure of cash of Rp5.19 billion in five suitcases from a safe house in Ciputat, South Tangerang, which was allegedly related to the case.
On May 6, 2026, John Field, Andri, and Dedy Kurniawan underwent the first trial as defendants. Then the name of the Director General of Customs Djaka Budi Utama appeared in the indictment for the three defendants.
In the indictment, Djaka Budi together with Rizal, Sisprian Subiaksono, and Orlando Hamonangan, were said to have met with cargo entrepreneurs at a hotel in Jakarta in July 2025. One of the entrepreneurs who attended was John Field.
Then on May 20, 2026, the KPK Prosecutor said Djaka Budi Utama was said to have received bribes of up to 213,600 Singapore dollars or around Rp2.99 billion based on the exchange rate of June 9, 2026.
On June 5, 2026, Raffi Ahmad's name appeared in a trial related to his visit to the Blueray Cargo Office in the United States.
The KPK on June 8, 2026, confirmed that Raffi Ahmad's name had appeared in the investigation of the case, especially regarding his activities visiting the Blueray Cargo Office to store or send a number of electronic goods to Indonesia.
"Yes, there is the fact that RA (Raffi Ahmad) entrusted it," said Acting Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein.
However, he admitted that the KPK had not developed this further in the investigation of the Customs case.
"Yesterday we didn't develop too far because it hadn't come to the facts that supported it, so part of the Blueray event was taking care of immigration at the Directorate General of Customs, so we didn't do the summons," he said.
