Toy Story 5 Soundtrack from Taylor Swift Breaks Global Streaming Record

JAKARTA - Taylor Swift has once again confirmed his position at the top of the global music industry with his latest work which became the theme song (soundtrack) for the animated film Toy Story 5.

The song titled "I Knew It, I Knew You" which was released last week, immediately made a new history by breaking the highest daily streaming record on various digital music platforms.

The three largest digital streaming service providers (DSP) - Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music - separately announced this fantastic achievement.

On the Spotify platform, the country pop genre song officially became the most listened to country song by a female musician in one day in the history of the platform.

Meanwhile, Apple Music recorded this song as the soundtrack to the film with the highest first-day viewing figures and became the biggest country song of 2026.

Similar success was also reported by Amazon Music, which confirmed that this song bagged the highest daily streaming numbers for any song throughout the year 2026.

As is known, the launch of "I Knew It, I Knew You" was first announced by Swift through her Instagram account. The 14-time Grammy winner also revealed her happiness and deep emotional attachment to the characters in Toy Story.

"I've always dreamed of being able to write a song for the characters I've worshiped since I was five years old. I fell in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in the early stages of development, and I immediately wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening," wrote Swift.

Specifically, the lyrics of this cheerful but nostalgic song were written specifically to represent the character of the female cowboy, Jessie, voiced by veteran actress Joan Cusack.

Swift admitted that the process of creating this song gave a unique spiritual experience for her musical career journey.

"Writing this song feels like a new musical exploration and at the same time feels like coming home. Creating something for the Jessie character is a new challenge, but it also feels very natural to me at once," added Swift.

The song "I Knew It, I Knew You" itself is Taylor Swift's first original work since she released the album "The Life of a Showgirl" last fall.

The album topped the Billboard 200 chart for 12 consecutive weeks and spawned two number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite".
