Baby Hair Is a Sign of Hair Recovery After a Period of Hair Loss

JAKARTA - The busy schedule, job demands, and various roles that must be carried out every day, attention is often seized on things that are considered a deficiency or loss. One of them is the problem of hair loss which often causes concern and interferes with self-confidence.

In fact, behind the visible loss, the body actually continues to show signs of growth and recovery. Just like ourselves, hair has the ability to continue to grow and develop. Unfortunately, the small process that is the sign of progress often goes unnoticed.

This experience was felt by Hanny Soegianto, a mother and content creator from Bandung. After giving birth, Hanny experienced quite severe hair loss due to hormonal changes. This condition even caused some parts of her hair to experience baldness or pitak.

As a content creator who is active in appearing in public, this situation made him feel depressed. The constant worries that arise actually worsen his condition.

A change in perspective began to occur when Hanny realized that many new hair or baby hair appeared in the middle of the recovery period. The new hair that grew slowly gave him a different perspective on what was happening to him.

Instead of focusing only on hair loss, he began to see signs of growth that had been ignored. The presence of baby hair is a symbol that the recovery process is underway, as well as a reminder that every challenge always holds the opportunity to grow stronger.

"Being a mother is really a noble task. I feel that I can love others more than myself," said Hanny, quoted from Dove's official statement.

The phenomenon experienced by Hanny is actually part of the natural cycle of hair growth. In the process, the hair follicles that are reactivated will produce new hair known as baby hair. The presence of new hair is one indicator that the regeneration process is underway.

Although it is small in size and often considered unimportant, baby hair can actually be a real proof that the body has mechanisms to repair and recover. This perspective is now being voiced as a way to help people appreciate every form of progress they experience.

Seeing this phenomenon, Dove Hairfall Control presents a campaign titled "Flip the Focus", a movement that invites the community to shift their attention from what is missing to the progress that is growing.

"We believe that every process, no matter how small, is worth celebrating. Through the Flip the Focus movement, Dove wants to change worry into optimism by helping people see the real progress that is often missed," said Shakina Dharma, Demand Generation Lead for Premium Hair & Innovation, Unilever Indonesia.

"The emergence of baby hair is a tangible proof that behind every challenge, there is always a process that continues to grow. Just like our potential, Dove is present as a traveling companion to invite every individual to flip the focus and rise to be stronger," he added.

The message was then realized through a short documentary video that raises the real story of the hair growth journey of various individuals with different backgrounds.

A number of inspiring figures such as Asida Dara, Shavira Agatha, Namira Adjani, and Hanny Soegianto share stories about their struggles in facing life challenges while finding ways to see progress that is often missed.

Not only through digital spaces, the message is also presented in the form of a direct experience through the Dove Real Growth Gallery exhibition which takes place at the Fashion Atrium, Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, on June 2-7, 2026.

Through this exhibition, visitors are invited to witness various stories of personal growth and hair growth journeys from inspirational figures, as well as sharing their own personal experiences.

This initiative is a space for reflection for the community to look back at various achievements that may not have been realized. Because, growth does not always come in the form of major changes. Sometimes, progress is seen from small steps that are consistently carried out every day.

As part of efforts to support the journey, Dove Hairfall Control also presents a hair care approach that focuses on scalp health. This approach is based on the understanding that strong and healthy hair starts with a well-maintained scalp condition.

Dove Hairfall Control products are developed with a personalized scalp care approach that is tailored to the needs of various types of Indonesian people's scalp. The formula is equipped with a combination of ingredients such as Biotin, Micellar, Niacinamide, and Hyaluron to help maintain scalp health while supporting stronger hair growth.

Through this campaign, Dove wants to invite the public to start giving space for every form of progress that occurs in their lives. Because, just like hair that continues to grow even though it is often not realized, each individual is also developing through their own processes and struggles.
