BYD Shows Off Its Latest Flagship Sedan

JAKARTA - BYD has given a little insight into its new flagship sedan. The largest manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEV) from China released official camouflage photos of the model.

CNevpost website, Tuesday, June 9, this new car is the first D-class flagship sedan in the BYD Dynasty lineup, marking the company's latest move to accelerate its expansion in the premium market.

Lu Tian, general manager of the sales division for the Dynasty BYD line, shared the images on Monday, after starting to ask for official name suggestions for the new model from the user community last week.

After going through several screening stages, six candidate names finally entered the final round, with the number of users who chose the Great Han option currently still far ahead.

Han is the flagship sedan of the BYD Dynasty line. Although the specific technical details of the Han sedan are still unclear, this car will join the upcoming Datang SUV in targeting the premium car market.

Back to the new flagship sedan from BYD, the Great Han is projected to come as a large-sized sedan with a length of around 5.2 meters. This car carries a fastback silhouette with a sloping roof line, a low front hood, multi-spoke rims with chrome accents, and a different fascia look compared to the Han model currently circulating.

At the back, the sedan is equipped with elongated lights that stretch from side to side. In addition, LiDAR sensors are placed on the roof of the vehicle to support advanced driving assistance features.

Previously, it was revealed that the Great Han EV will use LFP-based Blade Battery 2.0 batteries. The technology is claimed to allow charging from 10 percent to 97 percent in just nine minutes. For the rear wheel drive (RWD) variant, the mileage is said to reach 1,008 km in a single full charge, while the all-wheel drive (AWD) version offers a cruising range of up to 880 km.
