Peugeot e-208 GTi Mass Production Version Ready to Launch, 375 Km Range

JAKARTA - After introducing the e-208 GTi concept ahead of last year's 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, Peugeot is now preparing to launch a production version of its high-performance electric hatchback.

All official details of the vehicle are scheduled to be announced on June 12. Although it is still closing the complete specification, Peugeot has shared a number of leaked images of the car.

The French manufacturer said the latest model remains very similar to the original concept of 2025. They also confirmed that the car has a sporty yet elegant design with performance figures designed to amaze.

In terms of appearance, the e-208 GTi looks aggressive with a high-performance touch. The Lion logo has a special accent in the form of a red frame, while similar color details are also present on the edge of the grille and the front lamp elements.

Launching from Carscoops, Tuesday, June 9, Peugeot also attached a new front splitter that was painted in harmony with the body color to strengthen the sporty impression. On the side, you can see the use of shiny black mirrors and dark colored window sills.

The dynamic character is further emphasized through black overfender with red accents and the "208 GTi" emblem placed on the rear pillar. This car is also equipped with seven-spoke aerodynamic wheels combined with red brake calipers.

Meanwhile, the stern sector has undergone a refresh through the presence of a new spoiler with a contrasting red line on the bottom. The component is combined with a more aggressive diffuser design and a central brake light inspired by racing cars.

Entering the cabin, the changes made are not too drastic. However, Peugeot presents the latest flat-bottom steering wheel with the "208 GTi" logo.

The sporty feel continues through the specially designed front seats which have a red center line, red contrast stitching, red-tinted cabin lighting, and an exclusive graphic display on the digital screen.

Although the official specifications are still waiting for launch, the previous concept version is equipped with a 54 kWh capacity CATL battery that supplies power to an electric motor with 276 hp (206 kW/280 PS) with 345 Nm of torque. The combination allows the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.

Other interesting features include a limited-slip differential and DC fast charging support up to 100 kW. This technology allows charging from 20 percent to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.

Regarding the distance traveled, Peugeot previously hinted at the ability to travel up to 350 km in one charge. However, the display of the instrument panel on the production model indicates a higher figure, namely around 375 km.
