Trump Warns Netanyahu, Be Careful or You'll Be Alone

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said on Monday he had warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is under pressure not to escalate further tensions with Iran.

"I said, 'Bibi, you'd better be careful, or you'll soon be alone,'" President Trump said, quoted by an Israeli media outlet, Al Arabiya (8/6).

President Trump, increasingly exasperated with Netanyahu, had previously urged Iran and Israel to stop "shooting" and said "final negotiations" towards peace would go "on the condition that ignorance or stupidity prevent it."

However, the Israeli Prime Minister said in a televised statement, he had told President Trump that "Israel has the full right to defend itself, and we use it as it should be."

Last week, President Trump was asked if he called the long-ruling Israeli leader "very crazy" and accused him of not knowing how to be grateful.

"Yes," Trump told the "Pod Force One" podcast.

"I won't say angry. I'm a little annoyed because he is constantly at odds with Lebanon, you know," he said.
