Appearing at the Blueray Cargo Case Hearing, the KPK has the opportunity to investigate Raffi Ahmad's involvement
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has the opportunity to present the facts of the trial that dragged the name of President's Special Envoy for Youth Generation and Arts Workers Raffi Ahmad in the case of bribery of goods imports in the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) with the defendant owner of Blueray Cargo, John Field.
Acting Director of Investigation of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Achmad Taufik Husein, said that the information in the trial had actually been obtained by investigators when they examined witnesses.
"Because it is a fact of the trial, it means that it is also from the results of the examination of witnesses during the investigation process," said Taufik at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, June 8.
Taufik said that an in-depth investigation could be carried out against Raffi in the ongoing case of import. Because, at this time there are still other suspects who have not been tried.
"Well, it is also possible when there are trial facts that have just emerged, it will also be clarified or will be further investigated by the investigation team," he said.
Even so, Taufik was not ready to conclude whether there was smuggling based on the testimony at the trial. According to him, in the investigation of the Blueray Cargo case, the information did indeed come up.
"But we at that time did not come to the conclusion that it was smuggling. Because there were only about two units that were entrusted, maybe laptops, because there was an introduction or what so that it was then investigated by the Blueray yesterday we did not develop too far because it did not come to the facts that strengthen that it was part of the Blueray event to handle immigration at the Directorate General of Customs," he said.
"So then we don't do the summons," continued Taufik.
The name Raffi Ahmad emerged in the trial after the KPK prosecutor confirmed a WhatsApp conversation between Sri Pangestuti alias Tuti, a customs service management entrepreneur (PPJK) with Yohanes who is John Field's personal assistant.
In the conversation read by the prosecutor, Yohanes said that Raffi Ahmad, who was then in the United States, was said to want to send a laptop and iPhone to Indonesia through the Blueray Cargo network.
The prosecutor also revealed information that the goods were finally sent by air in Bali with the IMEI handling being done by the owner of the goods.
However, during the trial, Sri Pangestuti confirmed that he refused to help manage the shipment and did not know whether the goods eventually entered Indonesia.
