KPK Determines the Fate of Muara Enim Regent and 9 Others Tonight
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) determined the fate of Muara Enim Regent Edison and nine others who were arrested in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT), on Monday (8/6) evening.
"Tonight only an exposure (case title, ed.) was carried out," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, Monday.
According to Budi, the title of the case will determine the status of the suspects or not from the ten people who were arrested.
"We will see what the exposure is like, how the construction of the case is, what the role of the parties suspected of being involved is, including the suspected articles used in relation to what. Is it bribery, gratification, extortion, or what," he said.
Previously, on June 8, 2026, the KPK announced the arrest of ten people in OTT in South Sumatra, consisting of five elements of the Muara Enim Regency Government and five private ones.
The KPK also announced that one of the ten people arrested was the Regent of Muara Enim Edison.
Edison was arrested in South Sumatra, and is scheduled to be brought to Jakarta by the KPK on Tuesday (9/6).
In addition, the KPK said it seized cash of around hundreds of millions of rupiah from the OTT.
The KPK has 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of the parties arrested in the OTT in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP).
The OTT is the 12th one carried out by the KPK during 2026.
