JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that his party respected the decision of the RI Ombudsman Ethics Council (ORI) which imposed a non-honorable dismissal (PTDH) sanction against the non-active Ombudsman Chairman Hery Susanto who was involved in the alleged corruption case.
"Yes, we respect that decision," said Prasetyo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 8.
Prasetyo said his party would follow up on the decision in accordance with the applicable provisions.
"Later we will follow up on everything," he said.
He emphasized that the events that led to the sanction of dismissal were not expected to happen to anyone, including state officials.
"Of course, it actually does not only apply to the Ombudsman, yes, regarding what the problem is called, we do not want this to happen to anyone in the state officials. So we respect," he said.
The Ethics Council of the Indonesian Ombudsman (ORI) has imposed sanctions on the non-active Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman, Hery Susanto, in the form of dismissal without honor (PTDH).
The Chairman of the Ombudsman Ethics Council, Jimly Asshiddiqie, stated that Hery Susanto was proven to have committed a serious violation of the code of ethics and code of conduct for the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia.
"Imposing a severe level of sanctions, namely the honorable dismissal from the position of chairman and member of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2026-2031 term to Hery Susanto," said Jimly at a press conference in Jakarta, Monday.
Thus, the Ethics Council recommends that the ORI leadership convey a copy of the decision to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, to the Commission II of the DPR of the Republic of Indonesia, in order to fill in the new members and chairman, in accordance with the laws and regulations.
The Ethics Council also emphasized that the decision was final and binding in the enforcement of the code of ethics and code of conduct for ORI personnel.
Previously, the Attorney General's Office named Hery Susanto as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in nickel mining business management activities in 2013-2025.
