Israel Ends Attacks on Iran, but Remains at War with Hezbollah

Israel has decided to end its offensive against Iran, but will continue to fight the Hezbollah group in southern Lebanon.

Tensions have once again enveloped the Middle East, as Iran launched an attack on northern Israel on Sunday night, the first attack since the ceasefire agreement on April 8, in response to Israel's attack on Lebanon.

Israel responded by carrying out an attack on Iranian territory in the early hours, before the State of the Mullahs attacked Israeli territory again on Monday morning.

Israel has completed a "large-scale attack" on Iran, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement, TASS reported (8/6).

According to the Israeli military, dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets targeted "strategic defense systems."

Israel claims that the system was partially destroyed in previous confrontations in March and April, but has since been rebuilt in various parts of Iran.

"The attack led to the dismantling of these systems," the statement said.

Separately, Israel has decided to halt its attacks on Iran, an Israeli official said, quoted by The Times of Israel.

Meanwhile, another Israeli official told Hebrew-language media that the decision was taken at the request of US President Donald Trump, but stressed that Israel would not stop its attacks on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, saying, "It feels like this round of fighting is over. We are waiting for the final decision from the political leadership."

Hebrew-language media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump spoke by phone Monday, ahead of Tehran's announcement that they would stop the attack if Israel stopped its attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In a separate post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, President Trump called on Israel and Iran to stop fighting "immediately" after Monday's retaliatory airstrikes.
