Two Defendants in the Sarung and Mukena Corruption Cases Sentenced to One Year in Prison

MATARAM - The prosecutor demands that the judge impose a one-year prison sentence against Muhammad Zakaki and Dewi Dahliana, two defendants in the corruption case for the procurement of sarung and mukena sourced from the West Lombok DPRD's main thoughts, West Nusa Tenggara.

The criminal charges against the two West Lombok Social Service officials were submitted by the prosecutor in a follow-up hearing at the Corruption Crime Court at the Mataram District Court, Monday, June 8.

"Demanding that the panel of judges also impose a fine of Rp. 50 million on each defendant," said Mila Melinda representing the team of public prosecutors reading the charges of the two defendants who were held simultaneously in front of the panel of judges headed by Dewi Santini, reported by ANTARA.

If the fine cannot be paid within the time specified in accordance with the law, the prosecutor asks the judge to impose a substitute imprisonment for 50 days.8

The prosecutor submitted the demand by stating that the actions of the two defendants had been proven to violate the public prosecutor's sub-charge.

The indictment relates to Article 603 of the Indonesian Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code Jo. Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code Jo. Article 18 Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.

For the other two defendants, namely Ahmad Zainuri and Rusandi, the prosecutor asked the panel of judges to read the material of the indictment on Monday (15/6).

After hearing the prosecutor's statement, Dewi Santini as the presiding judge invited the prosecutor to carry out the agenda and continued the agenda of the hearing to deliver the plea or defense note for the defendants Muhammad Zakaki and Dewi Dahliana.
