Man Smuggling Opium Through Anus to Banceuy Bandung Prison Arrested

BANDUNG - Officers of the Class IIA Banceuy Bandung Penitentiary Agency (Lapas) thwarted an attempt to smuggle 19.14 grams of methamphetamine through the anus or smuggled through the anus with a condom package.

Head of the Class IIA Banceuy Prison Security Unit (KPLP) Andhika Saputra said the disclosure began with the suspicion of officers when they examined a man with the initials F before entering the visiting room.

"His movements were indeed suspicious from the front when he entered, later there may also be CCTV. When he entered, he was also seen to be agitated when he was examined," said Andhika as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 8.

According to him, the officers then carried out further checks after seeing a suspicious object protruding from the visitor's body. When checked, F tried to hide the items he was carrying.

Suspicious, officers re-examined and found narcotics hidden in the visitor's body.

Andhika said that after the evidence was found, officers immediately secured F and coordinated with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of West Java Province and the Bandung Police Narcotics Unit for further handling.

"Based on the results of the preliminary examination, F is known to have a relationship with one of the residents of the narcotics case who is in Banceuy Prison," he said.

He explained that in order to be able to visit, F came with the mother of the residents because visits are only allowed for the core family.

"He came with the mother of the residents so that he could enter to make a visit," he said.

He said that at this time his party was still investigating the involvement of other parties in the case, including examining the mother of the residents who came with F.

"His mother is also being questioned together with the person concerned. It is feared that he knows that the person concerned is hiding or smuggling the methamphetamine," he said.
