Government Guarantees Raw Materials for Refinery, RKAB Mines Will Be Balanced

JAKARTA - The government ensures that the supply of raw materials for the downstream industry is maintained. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will balance the needs of the industry with mine production through the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB).

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said that downstream investment that is already underway must have certainty of raw material supply.

"The obligation of the government, especially in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, is to ensure that all raw materials sourced from our country must exist," said Bahlil at the DPR building, Monday, June 8.

According to Bahlil, the balance between production capacity, industrial needs, and RKAB is important for the industry to continue to run.

"Between the production capacity of the needs and the RKAB that we will provide, it must be balanced so that the industry can run," he said.

RKAB is a document of the work plan and budget of the mining company which is the basis for production activities.

Bahlil said the policy was directly related to efforts to maintain downstream investment in Indonesia.

He emphasized that the government wanted to ensure that the added value of natural resources remained in the country.
