Not Released Yet, "Disclosure Day" is Steven Spielberg's Best Film
JAKARTA - The film Disclosure Day has begun to receive a response at the beginning of the screening ahead of its massive release worldwide. This film is said to be the best film by director Steven Spielberg during his career.
Disclosure Day tells the story of a major government conspiracy that is revealed. When a whistleblower who is in the spotlight tries to create an event that changes human history by revealing that aliens actually coexist with humans.
The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, Henry Lloyd-Hughes and others.
Launching THR, several responses praised Steven Spielberg's briefing which brought together various elements of science fiction in a quality story.
"Steven Spielberg presents something new with Disclosure Day. I can explain what I like but I was lucky to watch the film without knowing anything and I highly recommend you do the same," said Steven Weintraub from Collider.
"Disclosure Day is Spielberg's best film, on par with Raiders but with a more heightened emotional texture and ambition," said Jim Hemphill of IndieWire.
Not a few who also said Emily Blunt's acting was very shining in this film. They didn't expect Blunt to be able to deploy the acting for this film which has the potential to be nominated for various awards.
"I know, summer movies are not the type of performance that gets award attention, but when people see what she (Emily Blunt) did here," Weintraub said.
"A good performance overall but Emily Blunt is amazing," said critic Simon Thompson.
Disclosure Day is Spielberg's latest work after the film The Fabelmans in 2022. This film marks Spielberg's return to the UFO genre after Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1977.
The film Disclosure Day will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting June 10, 2026.
