Prabowo Appoints Nanik S Deyang and Said Iqbal at the Palace Monday Afternoon
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to appoint the new head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, June 8 afternoon. The inauguration is part of efforts to strengthen the implementation of government priority programs, especially the free nutritious meal program (MBG).
In addition to the BGN leadership, Prabowo is also rumored to appoint the President of the Labor Party, Said Iqbal, as a special presidential advisor on employment.
The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo would appoint Nanik S Deyang as head of the BGN. Two other officials will also take the oath of office as deputy heads of the BGN, namely Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono.
This inauguration marks a change in the leadership structure at the institution responsible for implementing the national nutrition fulfillment program. Strengthening the organization is considered necessary so that the implementation of the MBG program runs more effectively and reaches more beneficiaries in various regions.
Previously, President Prabowo had dismissed Dadan Hindayana from the position of head of BGN. Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung were also removed from the position of deputy head of BGN.
The three are now suspects in the alleged corruption case in the management of the implementation of the MBG program which is being investigated by the Attorney General's Office.
