Encourage the Development of Indonesian Student Sports, UPH and Campus League Form Strategic Cooperation
TANGERANG - Pelita Harapan University (UPH) has officially established a strategic partnership with Campus League through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which took place in Karawaci, Tangerang, Saturday, June 6, 2026. This collaboration is an important step in developing the student sports ecosystem in Indonesia.
The signing of the cooperation was carried out by the CEO of Campus League, Ryan Gozali and Associate Vice President of Student Development, Alumni & Corporate Relations UPH, Dr. Andry M. Panjaitan. The agreement marks UPH as the third university to partner with Campus League after the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) and the Indonesian Education University (UPI).
For UPH, this cooperation has historical value because it is the first collaboration of the campus that specifically works in the field of sports. Dr. Andry said this partnership is in line with the university's commitment to supporting the development of student-athletes and strengthening the campus' contribution to the advancement of national sports.
"This is our first opportunity to sign a MoU in the field of sports. Campus League is a glimpse of the future for Indonesian sports. For us, this is an opportunity to go further," said Dr. Andry in a statement.
Through this cooperation, UPH will not only be involved in student sports competitions, but also have the opportunity to utilize the Campus League ecosystem to support academic activities. Starting from learning, community service, to research related to sports and student development.
"Campus League definitely has a large database that can be used for more meaningful lessons, service, and research," he added.
Meanwhile, Ryan Gozali explained that collaboration with universities is part of the long-term vision of the Campus League in building a sustainable student sports competition. One of the development plans is the implementation of a home and away system in the next three to four years.
According to Ryan, the system will have a positive impact on the campus, ranging from the formation of a strong support base, increased alumni involvement, to the creation of new revenue opportunities through sponsorship and merchandise sales.
"Revenue can be used to pay the team, pay the coach, or finance the team's away trip. The campus team can also sell merchandise," said Ryan.
Apart from the economic aspect, the implementation of the system is also believed to encourage universities to improve the quality of sports facilities and infrastructure.
The campus will be encouraged to provide more decent fields, adequate supporting facilities, and venues that are ready to support the broadcast needs of the match.
Dr. Andry hopes that the cooperation between UPH and Campus League can benefit both parties and contribute to the advancement of Indonesian student sports.
"This is a good thing. Hopefully we can all benefit from it," concluded Dr. Andry.
