Gus Ipul: People's Schools Reach Children Who Have Never Been Seen
TABANAN - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul revealed that the process of reaching out to prospective students of the People's School revealed that there are still many children who have been deprived of access to education and state attention.
When reporting on the progress of the People's School program to President Prabowo Subianto at SRMP 17 Tabanan, Bali, Sunday (7/6), Gus Ipul referred to the group as part of the community that has not been seen in the social and educational service system.
"This is the result of outreach in accordance with the President's instructions. We found what the President has always called part of the de-invisible people," said Gus Ipul.
According to Gus Ipul, the government found children who had never been to school, dropped out of school, and were at risk of dropping out of school.
One of the cases found was a 15-year-old teenager named Al Jabbar who admitted that he had never received formal education.
The findings were obtained through a direct outreach process carried out by the government to families who meet the criteria for the People's School beneficiaries.
Gus Ipul said the People's School not only serves as an educational institution, but also becomes a gateway to finding and helping marginalized community groups.
"There are many like this. This is just an example," he said.
Therefore, the government continues to strengthen the outreach process so that children who have not been touched by education services can return to the school system.
According to Gus Ipul, the People's School program is one way for the state to be present for the most vulnerable and most in need of assistance.
