More than 400 applicants, Bali People's School has more fans
TABANAN - Public interest in People's Schools in Bali exceeds the available capacity.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul reported to President Prabowo Subianto that the number of participants who had been reached for the SMP and SMA levels had exceeded the quota.
"Currently, more than 400 participants have been reached," said Gus Ipul when accompanying the President to review the 17 Tabanan SRMP, Sunday (7/6).
In fact, the permanent building that is being built in Karangasem will only be designed to accommodate around 270 students.
According to Gus Ipul, this condition shows the community's need for People's Schools is still very high.
Currently, Bali only has one pilot People's School located in Tabanan.
The government is building permanent schools as part of the national program to develop People's Schools in various regions.
The construction of permanent facilities in Karangasem, said Gus Ipul, has reached almost 80 percent.
