Prabowo: There are still many people who need a people's school

TABANAN - President Prabowo Subianto acknowledged the public's need for the People's School program is still very large. This can be seen from the number of applicants which far exceeds the available capacity.

Prabowo made the statement while reviewing the 17 Tabanan Elementary People's School (SRMP), Bali, Sunday (7/6).

In a dialogue with the Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, the President received a report that the number of applicants for the People's School in Bali had reached more than 400 people. Meanwhile, the current capacity is around 270 students.

"There are still many people who need this school," said Prabowo.

According to the President, the People's School was built to help people who are in the most difficult economic conditions and have limited access to education.

"Our People's School is realized to help those who are the most difficult, those who are the least capable," he said.

Prabowo said the goal of national development is to ensure that all Indonesian people have the opportunity to live a decent and better life. Therefore, education is one of the government's top priorities.

He assessed that improving the quality of human resources was not only done through formal education, but also through training for farmers, teachers, nurses, and various other professions.

"Education that can make the people prosperous in all fields," he said.

Prabowo emphasized that efforts to improve the quality of education require hard work and large budget support. Therefore, state financial management must be carried out carefully and responsibly.

"Money must be saved, must be guarded. State wealth must be guarded," he said.

According to Prabowo, Indonesia has abundant natural resources. The challenge is how to manage and maintain these assets so that the benefits are truly felt by the people.

Seeing the high public interest in the People's School, the President asked the government to continue to expand access to education for groups that have been difficult to reach.

"We have to work hard in all fields," said Prabowo.
