From Toll to Mountain Climb, Wuling Eksion PHEV Proves Efficiency and Comfort

JAKARTA - Wuling Motors recently officially launched its latest SUV, the Eksion, and this time invited national media to experience the sensation of long-distance driving with the route Jakarta - Purwokerto - Wonosobo for more than 550 kilometers.

Carrying the spirit of 'Exploring Family Journeys', the elephant team had the opportunity to experience this PHEV variant firsthand with a route that presents various terrain characters, including mountain trails, as well as a simulation of a family trip.

The first batch of Eksion drive media journey carries the theme of Mountain Exploration Journey which is designed to provide a driving experience on various road characters. To present a more realistic simulation of a family trip, each vehicle is filled with four participants and their luggage.

The total journey is divided into three stages, starting from Jakarta to Purwokerto on the first day, followed by a trip to Wonosobo on the second day, and closed with a trip to Yogyakarta on the last stage. This route was chosen because it offers a combination of toll roads, urban areas, to mountain paths with diverse elevation and turns.

During the trip, participants can try various Driving Mode configurations consisting of Eco, Normal, and Sport, as well as Energy Mode which includes EV Max, EV First, Hybrid, and Fuel Priority. Various settings are part of Ling Power technology which allows vehicles to optimize the use of electric power and gasoline engines according to travel needs. In addition, participants can also experience how the Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) works adaptively to deliver responsive and efficient performance in various road conditions.

Media partners can also experience firsthand how Ling Power technology works in various driving conditions. The Plug-in Hybrid system combines a 1.5L dedicated hybrid engine, a 145 kW electric motor, a 20.5 kWh battery, and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) to produce responsive and efficient performance. In operation, Ling Power is able to automatically manage the use of electric power and gasoline engines according to needs, thus providing an optimal driving experience in various travel situations.

As is known, the Wuling Eksion PHEV relies on Ling Power technology which combines a 1.5L dedicated hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of 43.2 percent, an electric motor with 145 kW power, a 20.5 kWh battery, and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) with a fast response. This 7-seater SUV is also capable of covering a distance of up to 125 kilometers in pure electric mode and has a total mileage of more than 1,000 kilometers (CLTC).
